SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Struthers Rotary and Rotary Community Corp. have announced the Service Above Self scholarship winners for 2016. From left, are Tom Baringer, scholarship chairman; Catherine Miller, Rotary Community Corp. president; Carly Szenburn, Community Corp. scholarship; Makenzie Stewart, Rotary scholarship recipient; Nick Mozingo, Comstock scholarship; and Jenna Cummins and Katelyn Mitcheltree, Rotary scholarships. Stefanie Hill also received a Rotary scholarship. Rotary scholarships are based on community service and are funded by the club’s annual pancake breakfast in November. The Rotary Community Corp. scholarship is awarded in honor of Struthers residents Donna Marciano and Frank Marr. The Comstock scholarship is given in honor of William Comstock, a former Rotarian, Struthers teacher and member of its Board of Education, and is funded by rotary and the Comstock family. Since 1985, the Rotary has awarded $90,000 in scholarships to 150 students.
