SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR A group of Jackson-Milton High School seniors visited Mahoning County Justice Center in Youngstown on May 13 for Prom Promise, a pledge to family, school and friends to avoid alcohol and make good decisions during prom. At the Justice Center, the students toured the facility to see daily operations and met with county sheriff’s deputies to discuss alcohol and drug abuse, interactions with police officers, respect and other issues. A small group of inmates also met with the students to urge smart decision- making and accountability; the inmates discussed the challenges of adulthood, sharing their personal stories and using them as a teaching tool.
