SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Several Keystone Blind Association staff members and nine blind and visually impaired Keystone Kids from Hermitage, Pa., traveled to Disney World in Orlando for Disney’s Youth Education Series. In 2005, Keystone Kids were the first group of visually impaired students to take part in this Disney program. The students spent five days having fun with rides and team building exercises, and also learning about energy and waves, special effects and environmental conservation. They also went swimming with dolphins at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. KBA promotes personal growth and independence for blind and severely visually impaired children through a variety of fun and educational experiences that help develop orientation, mobility, social and organizational skills.
