SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Poland Historical Society will host an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Little Red Schoolhouse, 4515 Center Road, at the intersection of Route 224 and Struthers Road. The school was built in 1858 and is the meeting peace for the society. It houses artifacts dating back to the 19th century. Historical Society members will be available to answer questions and provide information about Poland. The next open house will be Aug. 14. Two books are for sale, Poland Historical Highlights, a reprint of a book published in 1966 for $10, and a new book with som of Poland’s history from the past 50 years for $15. Both can be purchased at Trolio’s, 35 McKinley Way (Towne One Plaza) and at the Village Pantry, 221 S. Main St. Books can be mailed for an additional $3.50 each by sending a check to Poland Historical Society, P.O. Box 5052, Poland, OH 44514. Books also will be available for purchase during the open houses.
