SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR | Youngstown Lions Club welcomed Youngstown State University baseball head coach Steve Gillispie as a guest speaker for its Feb. 11 luncheon meeting. Gillispie reported that the YSU baseball team had increased its winning percentage consistently throughout the past three seasons and that the team has also made a large jump in scheduling more difficult opponents to challenge their players. Nine of the 32 rostered players are from the Mahoning Valley or western Pennsylvania. Myra Vitto, the third vice president for the Lions, is pictured with Gillispie.
