SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR — SMARTS executive director speaks to Struthers Rotary Becky Keck, executive director of Students Motivated by the Arts (SMARTS), was featured speaker at the meeting of the Struthers Rotary Club on Jan. 5. Rotarian Kelly Becker hosted. Keck shared the history of the program as well as its success by providing art education to nine different schools. SMARTS recently partnered with South Side Academy and is providing a music teacher to the school, and the program is currently working with Warren City School and the Kennedy Center in New York City to broaden their classes with visual arts, music, dance, theater and creative writing.
