SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Cardinal Mooney High School celebrated Giving Tuesday by donating $500 to Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley with the help of an anonymous alumna donor. Because eighth grade students are too young to volunteer for the Rescue Mission, Mooney made the donation in honor of all Lumen Christi eighth grade students in the Diocese of Youngstown, St. Paul School, Salem, and St. Joseph the Provider School, Youngstown. Mooney Hospitality Team members toured the mission’s facility Nov. 29 and presented the check to Crystal Eckman, mission ambassador. In front from left, are Kate Pelini, Nico Marchionda, Eckman and Mackenzie Hammond. In back are Nick Blasko, Taylor Martin and Pat Pelini.

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Boardman Poland Juniorettes recently packed and wrapped shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child with toys, hygiene items and school supplies collected from family members and Boardman Poland Junior Women’s League members. The Juniorettes prepared 28 shoeboxes and will track the boxes online to see where they are sent to children around the world. Juniorettes is a service group for girls age 12 to 18 and is sponsored by the Junior Women’s League. Current members attend Struthers, Cardinal Mooney, Canfield, St. Nicholas and Ursuline schools. Upcoming projects include decorating a wildlife edible Christmas tree at Boardman Park, a Christmas party and delivering Christmas cards at Glenellen Assisted Living. Juniorettes, in front from left, are Natalie Meadors, Bridget Bobovnyik and Jessica Felleti. In back are Gia Radilovic, Isabella Glover, Gianna Glover, Abby Vernon and Sabrina Goodrich.
