SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Youngstown Alumnae Panhellenic Association hosted its first meeting of the year at Michael Alberini’s Restaurant in Boardman. YAPA recognized the outgoing executive board and committee members who have served for the past two years. Newly installed officers are Anna Masi of Youngstown, president; Cynthia Wynn of Boardman, secretary; and Margaret “Peg” Machingo of Youngstown, assistant treasurer. During the meeting, the association introduced a new fundraising initiative through the Community Foundation of Mahoning Valley. The purchase of a “sunflower petal” for $1 in honor of a sister or friend will benefit the YAPA Endowment Fund. The association collected nonperishable food items for the student pantry at Youngstown State University and also approved bylaws. Past presidents of YAPA who attended the meeting and were honored for their service, in front from left, are Nancy Lysowski, Anna Mastriana, Patricia Ceglie, Sally Winsen and Lucy Setz. In back are Monica Bellavia, Patricia Shears, Lynn Sorber, Rosemarie Bisignani, Suzanne Brown, Mary Ann Keifer and Sharon Schroeder. YAPA has been in existence for 90 years. It provides involvement for Greek women and supports collegiate Greek women.
