SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Four Struthers High School graduates, who have spent time in international service, spoke on their experiences during the Aug. 9 meeting of Struthers Rotary Club. Above, from left, are Jennifer Johnson, Struthers Rotary president-elect; Shelly Stenglein, third-grade teacher in Struthers City Schools; Elin Renstrom, who served in the Peace Corps and Americorps; Tom Baringer, club president; Katelyn Ardale, a student at the University of Akron and volunteer with Meeting God in Missions; and Kalea Hall, reporter with The Vindicator. Stenglein traveled to El Salvadore to assist Kings Castle Ministries to provide religious education, medical and dental treatment and life-skill training; Renstrom graduated from Youngstown State University, was in the Peace Corps in the South Pacific, taught English as a second language and provided teachers’ training then returned home and joined Americorps to work in disadvantaged areas of the United States; and Hall, who has a degree in journalism, visited Peru, where she taught English.
