SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Kevin Schafer, coordinator of ghost tours for Salem Historical Society, is shown by a trolley that ferries tour-goers on Salem Ghost Trolley Tour to cemeteries and other “haunted” areas around Salem. Tour dates are at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sept. 24; 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. Oct. 8 and 6, 8 and 10 p.m. Oct. 15 and 22. Participants will exit the trolley three times at sites. Cost is $15. Salem Ghost Walk takes people around the city and relates Salem’s “haunted” past. The walks, held rain or shine, costs $10 and will take place at 8 p.m. Oct. 14 and 21. Good walking shoes are recommended. A dinner and ghost walk is planned Oct. 28. Available at Salem Historical Society gift shop, 208 S. Broadway Ave., is “The Haunted Salem, Ohio” by docent Kim Mitchell and tour T-shirts. All tours meet at the Dale Shaffer Research Library meeting room, 239 S.
