SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR The League of Women Voters of Trumbull County recently met to prepare the voter information guide for the Nov. 3 election. The guide is a nonpartisan, informational publication that solicits candidates’ credentials and positions on critical issues facing voters in Trumbull County and reports their responses in an easy-to-read format. Copies will be placed in senior centers, libraries, high schools and local businesses. The guide is free but donations are accepted to pay for the publication. Make checks payable to LWVTC Education Fund and mail to Sandy Mahaffey, treasurer, LWV of Trumbull County, P.O. Box 161, Fowler, OH 44418. Preparing the guides are, from left, Peggy Boyd; Terri Crabbs, chairwoman; Sue Smith; Mahaffey; and Charlotte Meloni, president.

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Eric Grantonic, sitting on the fender of a classic car and a Life Scout and Boy Scout with Troop 49 of New Middletown, decided to make his Eagle project an inaugural Cruiser Classic 5K Run/Walk in conjunction with the Custom Car Show at Free Methodist Church, 9900 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road in New Middletown. It stems from his interest in running and competing. The event will be Saturday with registration opening at 7:30 a.m. and the race starting promptly at 9. The race will travel along back roads in a safe location, and the start and finish will be at Springfield Township Custom Car Show at the church. There will be seven age groups competing for medals. Shirts are guaranteed to the first 100 who register. Registration is $15 before the race or $20 on race day. For information or registration, email CruiserClassic5K@gmail.com or call 330-542-2174.
