SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Members of the Men’s Renewal Group of St. Michael Parish donated funds to St. Joseph the Provider School in Youngstown. The money was for copies of the African American Catholic Youth Bible for middle school students. It contains commentaries, footnotes and artwork to help black students understand Scripture and the role of Jesus in their lives. Seated, from left, are students Jalen Adams, Jarail Jenkins and Desirae Hairston. Standing are the Rev. Michael Swierz, president of St. Joseph the Provider School; Alan Ricks, board member of the school and a St. Michael’s parishioner; the Rev. Terry Hazel, St. Michael’s pastor; Miros Maszczak and Charles Wirtz, parishioners at St. Michael’s; and Cheryl Jablonski, school principal.
