SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR: James Skok, right, with his children, Austin and Madison, is an 18-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who spoke at the Feb. 16 meeting of the Rotary Club of Austintown. Skok received a Habitat for Humanity veteran house built in Austintown last year with the help of 65 companies, organizations and individuals. The house was built with handicap-accessible features because of Skok’s military injuries. Ten more homes for veterans will be built in Mahoning County in the next decade. Ed Kalaher, left, Rotary program chairman, presented a book to Skok and his children. It was donated to the Austintown Elementary School Library in honor of Skok’s speech.
