SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Officials of the 38th annual Ohio Police and Fire Games fundraiser, an Olympic-style event, presented a check for $1,440 to Liz McGarry for Hospice of the Valley, sent $1,453 to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and donated 75 pounds of pop tabs to the Ronald McDonald House. The purpose of the games is to support the physical and mental fitness of Ohio’s active and retired law enforcement officers, firefighters, military personnel and corrections officers. The Mahoning Valley Chiefs of Police Association hosted the games. Carl Frost, police chief of Beaver Township, was overall coordinator, and about 500 people participated.
