Harriet Chandler, who are making final preparations for the society’s 12th annual show, planned for noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 30 at Fellows Riverside Gardens. Artistic designs will be featured and growers will exhibit hundreds of colorful dahlia blooms. The best in each class will be displayed in the Dahlia Court of Honor.

Florence Wang, center, Youngstown Symphony Society board member, recently presented Youngstown Symphony Orchestra Classics and Pops subscription tickets to the Oblate Sisters Villa Maria Teresa as part of the symphony’s outreach program. The season’s Classics concerts will include performances Oct. 3 featuring Vadym Kholodenko; March 12, 2016, an exploration of the American West with photos by Ansel Adams with music by Dave and Chris Brubeck; and April 9, 2016, with cellist Inbal Segev. Pops concerts will include country legends, Nov. 7; Christmas on Broadway, Dec. 12; and Disney in Concert: Tales as Old as Time, Feb. 6, 2016.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, St. Monica Guild has donated more than $500 of school supplies to St. Joseph the Provider School in Youngstown. The school serves inner-city children of all faiths.
