SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR The Simply Slavic Committee announces that Youngstown State University student Shelby Norris, center, has won its 2015 $500 scholarship. A college sophomore from Lowellville, Norris will use the money to assist with her tuition as she pursues a degree in hospitality management. She had submitted a 500-word essay on how being Slavic affects her life. At left is John Slanina, chairman of Simply Slavic community relations, and at right is Dave Slanina, treasurer of Simply Slavic. Funding for the scholarship is generated from the annual June Simply Slavic festival in Youngstown.
