SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR The committee for Women’s Equality Day 2015 announces plans for the annual celebration to take place at noon Aug. 26 at the Women’s Park, Mahoning Avenue NW, Warren. This year marks the 95th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. The keynote presentation will feature “Rally the Votes: A Man’s Perspective,” a dialogue between Frederick Douglass, Ansel Bascom and James Mott, which took place in Seneca Falls, N.Y. Tony DeFore will provide music. The event is free and open to the public. Those who attend are asked to take lawn chairs. Refreshments will be served after the program at the Upton House, 380 Mahoning Ave. NW. Co-sponsors are the League of Women Voters of Trumbull County, the Upton Association, Warren Civic League, GFWC Ohio Warren Junior Women’s League and GFWC Warren City Federation of Women’s Clubs.
