Some of Canfield High School’s Interact Club recently served pancakes, helped set the tables, cleared tables and washed dishes for the Rotary Club of Canfield’s annual pancake breakfast. Sibera serves as state second vice president, and Williams is the state president. Delta Kappa Gamma is an honor society comprising key women educators who demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative and dedication to the education profession.

Austintown Junior Women’s League recently hosted its 7th annual Taste of Austintown Event. AJWL members selling tickets for the event were, Karen Jakubec, left, Linda Jones, Nancy Jones, Kathy Mock and MaryeKay Erickson. Funds raised are used to provide scholarships to Austintown Fitch High School graduating seniors. Co-chairwomen for the event were Tammy VonSchwartz and Deanna Hosey, assisted by Kelly Constance. Rachel’s Restaurant earned the Judge’s Choice Award, Barry Dyngle’s won the People’s Choice Award, and the Best Presentation honors went to Gorant Chocolatier. Judges were Ken Jakubec, Gary Reel and Linda Vuletich, assisted by Youngstown State University sorority members Kimberly Bennett and Krysten Simpson.

Plans are being made by, from left, Dennis Penner, Sara Scudier, Nancy Mostka, Ellen Speicher and Carol Holt, for the Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens spring plant sale, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. A members preview will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, when members will receive a 15 percent discount. Members will receive a 10 percent discount other days. Proceeds are used to benefit the gardens, including the new greenhouse.
