SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR
One of the many classes offered at the Austintown Senior Center is woodcarving. Beginning in the fall, the class spent hours carving two plaques of the Austintown School logo. At the December meeting, they presented Vince Colaluca, schools superintendant, with the plaques. Class members are, seated from left, Marty Trebus, Dorothy Cover, Patty McSuley and Roy Sauline. In the middle are Tom Evans, Darryl Gassler, Diane Ziegler, Colaluca, Ron Walker and Mark Cole, Austintown Rotary president. In the back row are Bob Ziegler, Keith Kingaman, Garry Sullivan and Chuck Mound. Other members are Carol Beadnell, Bob Stas, Don Mortimer and Jessica Ricker.

The 2014 Membership Campaign has begun for the Humane Society of Columbiana County. Those 18 and over are eligible for membership and all its privileges. Team memberships are available for $10, Best Friend for $25, Loyalty for $100, Good Samaritan for $250, Lifesaver for $500, and Master level for $1,000. Joyce Lasky, left, of Guilford Lake, is an HSCC supporter, and Stephanie Peterson is HSCC animal resource complex supervisor. Their companions are Champ and Wonka, Poochie Playtime participants at the HSCC Animal Resource Complex.

She recently visited the Rotary Club of Canfield and was welcomed by Randy Swartz, Canfield Rotary’s president. Rotary clubs sponsor exchange students worldwide.
