Mike Devine, who volunteers with his wife, Ellen, with the John Severn Soup Group at St. Dominic Church in Youngstown, stirs ham, barley and potato soup in a 30-gallon kettle. The church group makes about 25 gallons of soup every Monday from October through April for St. Vincent de Paul dining hall.
