Zachary Schmetterer , 18, of Canfield, has raised more than $5,000 for the Beatitude House by asking people to send donations to the charity rather than giving him graduation gifts. Beatitude House is a Youngstown-based charity that provides transitional housing and other services to homeless women and children. Schmetterer was Ursuline High School’s valedictorian this year and will attend Cornell University in the fall.
