SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Above, at right, Thomas Zickefoose of Canfield, who is Ohio Lions District 13-D governor, and Robert Allgood of East Liverpool, second vice district governor, joined others at Craig Beach in Lake Milton for the American Cancer Society’s Brrr for a Cure Polar Plunge last month. With the help of other Lions of District 13-D, family and friends, they were able to raise around $1,900 to fight cancer.

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR On the right is Judy Zimmer of Howland, AARP volunteer tax preparer, filing taxes for Des Puhak, also of Howland. The Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., is continuing AARP tax preparation through Friday. There are at least five preparers on site each Friday. Appointments must be made by calling the center at 330-544-3676.

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Students in kindergarten and second grade at St. Patrick School in Hubbard celebrated Fat Tuesday in preparation for the Lenten season. The children decorated masks and feasted on treats and beverages throughout the day. Kindergarten student Jayden Stiles passed out colorful beads to all school students before classes began. In back is Barbara Bond, and from left are Sarah Lindholm, Jayden, Ashley Lewis, Aubrey Munnell, Nicholas Markulin and Lia Fiorini.
