SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR
The first Farm-Fresh Cook-Off Challenge took place Aug. 10 at White House Fruit Farm in Canfield. The challenge required contestants to use five specific ingredients in one unique dish. Winners were Dawn Cunningham of Youngstown, first place, for her avocado almond shortbread with tomato and peach curd; Michelle Dubas of Youngstown, second place, for her peach melba ricotta cake with berry coulis; and Lori Dunaway of Canfield, third place, for her almond avocado cupcakes with almond buttercream frosting. Judges, from the left, were Tricia Perry, Carol Rimedio-Righetti, Suzanne Barbati, Glenn Stevens, Regina Reynolds, Debbie Pifer and Mike Iberis. Half of the proceeds were donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.

The second annual Fitch Class of ’76 and Friends Golf Outing and picnic took place Aug. 24 at the Flying B Golf Course. The group formed to “pay it forward” to a friend in need.
