The Friends of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County’s East Branch are planning a Lavendar and Lace Tea from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 at Youngstown East Library, 430 Early Road. The guest speaker, Susan Moorer, Youngstown State University coordinator of P-16 Outreach and Assessment, will present “The Ubiquitous Woman.” Tickets are $15 per person. Make checks payable to Friends of PLYMC. For information and tickets call the library’s development office at 330-740-6096. Those attending should wear their favorite hat and gloves. Newcomers Club of Canfield, formerly the Welcome Wagon Club, recently installed new officers. From left are Tamara Sigler, president; Diane Durrant, first vice president; Tina Holland, second vice president; Paula Lavin, secretary; and Julie VanDevender, treasurer. The club is open to all women of the Mahoning Valley and provides the opportunity to engage in recreational and social activities.
