SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR The Youngstown Police Department sponsored its 22nd annual Memorial Golf Outing recently at Pine Lakes Golf Club in Hubbard. The event was in memory of those officers who lost their lives to cancer between 2009 and 2011. They are Capt. Robert Kane, Capt. Kenneth Centorame, Detective Sgt. Jerry Maietta and Detective Sgt. Joseph DeMatteo. The proceeds this year will provide Youngstown State University scholarships to Alexander Barber, son of Detective Sgt. Ronald Barber; Christopher Kenney, son of Officer Ed Kenney; Marc Ruse, son of Officer Ken Ruse; and Travis Williams, son of Clerk Lori Williams. Outing committee members, above, from left are Fred LoSasso, Debbie DeMatteo, Laura Brown, Vickie Maietta, Carlotta Kane and Sue Centorame. Also on the committee are Detective Sgt. John Patton, Officer Tony Tulipano, Lt. Jerry Slattery and Officer Tony Marzullo.
