Mahoning County Medical Society Alliance presented a check for $10,000 to the Midlothian Free Health Clinic in Youngstown during a joint meeting April 19 at Cassese’s MVR Restaurant in Youngstown. The proceeds were from the annual charity fashion show in February. Above, Dr. Thomas Albani Jr. is medical director of the clinic, and Michelle Duffett is president of the alliance. The clinic provides basic primary care for those without health insurance. The alliance is a group of physicians’ spouses who promote the goals of the local medical society.

Home Savings Charitable Foundation donated $10,000 to two programs at Youngstown State University. The Summer Bridge Program, a multicultural student retention program, and Beeghly College of Education Boot Camp, a learning community for students of color  designed to retain students in the program, each received $5,000.
