The Butler Institute of American Art hosted a reception recently in the parlor of Butler North to honor volunteers at its gift shops and information desk. The event, in the museum’s education center, was part of the Butler’s celebration of National Volunteers Month. About 50 volunteers attended the wine and hors d’oeuvres party, where they received recognition pins for their contributions. The Butler operates gift shops at its Youngstown and Howland locations and has more than 200 volunteers who help the museum staff in a variety of ways.
