Kent’s Mary Gavriloff (15) heads to first base, but is out as Fitch first baseman Gabby Butcher(11) makes the catch during their Division I tournament softball game Wednesday at Fitch High School in Austintown. Trailing 1-2 until the sixth inning, Butcher, a junior, connected for a two-out RBI double to put the Falcons ahead, 3-2. A single by Mercedes Pratt scored Butcher and gave Fitch the 4-2 win. The Falcons’ next game is set for Tuesday at The Fields of Dreams in Boardman.
