SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR The Italian Heritage Foundation of Youngstown is announcing the awarding of more than $21,000 to Mahoning Valley charities made possible from profits of the 2012 Greater Youngstown Italian Fest in downtown Youngstown. Scholarships of $1,000 each were provided to eight Youngstown State University students and one building and trades scholarship. More than 20 Mahoning Valley organizations received various amounts including: the Rich Center for Autism, Second Harvest Food Bank of Mahoning Valley, First Night Youngstown, YMCA downtown youth programs, Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown, St. Vincent de Paul Society Soup Kitchen, and St. Anthony of Padua Church for St. Joseph the Provider School improvements, among others.
