Alliance Community Hospital Charity Golf Outing welcomed 108 golfers June 17 at the Alliance Country Club. From left, the team of Bud Flanigan, Joe Greco, Gary Belles and Jake Keister won the putting contest and a $2,000 scholarship for a Louisville High School student entering the medical field. Proceeds this year will benefit five organizations: the Alliance Family YMCA, the Alliance for Children and Families, the Alliance Neighborhood Center, the Alliance Area Development Foundation and the Homeless Continuum of Care of Stark County.

Adam Gregory, center, recently received the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau’s Good Neighbor Award from Warren Mayor Doug Franklin, left, and Jerry Usselman, the tourism board president. The event took place at the bureau’s semiannual membership meeting at the Raymond John Wean Foundation in downtown Warren. In early May, Gregory, who had been practicing his guitar in Women’s Park, saw smoke behind the tourism office and ran to check out the cause. He and Stephanie Sferra, tourism director, worked together to keep the fire at bay until the Warren Fire Department arrived. Gregory is a local photographer and graphic designer and lives in Warren’s Historic District with his wife.
