Ohio Star Quilters installed 2013 club officers and began the group’s monthly meetings recently. Standing is Linda Kristo, secretary; and seated, from left, are Verna McNeill, treasurer; Sherril Johnson, first vice president; and Missy Shaffer, president. The group meets at 9:30 a.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at Howland S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center. Its purpose is to practice the art of quilting excellence through education. All are welcome to attend. Large and small projects are planned and taught throughout the year. Members will sponsor their 26th annual Quilter’s Day Out on May 1 at DiVieste Banquet Room, 754 North River Road, Warren. The speaker will be Karen Phillips Scwallen, and there will be vendors. Coffee, juice and roll, luncheon, a display of quilts and smaller items, and a 50-50 raffle also will be available. Entry donations are $25 per person, and tickets will be on sale beginning Feb. 1.
