SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Seven exceptional Austintown Fitch track athletes are heading for national indoor competition in New York City with financial aid from the Rotary Club of Austintown. They were introduced by coaches Seth Steiner and T.J. Konowski at the February meeting when the rotary presented them with a donation. A veteran of the competition is junior Gabby Figueroa, who is ranked number one in the shot-put competition as she heads to the contest. Six male track stars are expected to be strong competitors in the March event. More local donations are needed because school money cannot be used for these contests. Fitch superintendent Vince Colaluca arranged the visit. Pictured above are, Mark Cole, left, Rotary president elect; Gabby Figueroa, shot-put competitor; coaches Seth Steiner and T.J. Konowski.
