Chris Yambar, center, artist-in-residence for Youngstown State University Students Motivated by the Arts, recently presented a four-day program at Harding Elementary School. The program is part of Youngstown Rotary’s project Put Kids First, a mentoring program at the school. Yambar has been working and volunteering at SMARTS since 2009 and has demonstrated his ability as an artist, teacher, mentor and supporter of the SMARTS Mission. He has had several exhibits at SMARTS, volunteered during programming and fundraisers, taught SMARTS classes and helped create the Paramount Parade for the Paramount Project Exhibit at the McDonough Museum of Art in Spring 2012. Pictured with him on the far right is Ronald Faniro, current Rotary club president. Faniro posed for the children to draw a characterization of him. The students are holding up their drawings of him. | SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR
