Boardman Evangel Baptist Church, 5248 Southern Blvd., Boardman, will host its first prom dress giveaway from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Organizers have collected more than 100 dresses, and there also will be shoes and jewelry. They are pleased to be able to offer participants an opportunity to enjoy prom without the costs associated with it. Displaying some of the dresses are, from left, Lisa Rohrman, Angela Ford and Lynda Hawkins. High school girls are encouraged to come early to try on their favorite gently worn dresses.

The Yo-Mah-O Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals invites all area administrative professionals to join them at an Administrative Professionals Day event to be April 26 at Antone’s Banquet Center, Market Street in Boardman. Speaker for the evening will be Dr. Cynthia Anderson, president of Youngstown State University. The member of the year, Nancy Brett, will be honored. The evening will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30. Cost of the event is $25. For reservations call Joan Battagline at 330-547-5132. Austintown Historical Society will have its Spring Tea on April 22 at The Strock Stone House, 7171 Mahoning Ave., Austintown. Seatings are at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Reservations are a must by Friday. Cost is $14 per person, and $7 for children under 12. Coffees and teas, finger sandwiches, scones, pastries and extras will be served, as they would at a traditional high tea. Tours of the house will follow each seating. Make checks payable to the Austintown Historical Society and mail to 1181 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown, OH 44515.
