Basket auction Saturday to benefit children: Members of the Friends of Children’s Aid Society of Mercer County, from left, Julie Anhalt, Joan Foster, Betty Smith, Becky Kandela and Liz Bolster, show off baskets for the Children’s Aid Society auction, which will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Sharon (Pa.) VFW Post 1338, 439 E. State St., across from Daffin’s Candy. All drawings will begin promptly at 3 p.m. Admission of $3 includes 25 auction tickets, a hot dog and a Dean’s Dairy beverage.
