Eggleston said incessant rain in April and May has prevented his honey bees from flying. He’s using pollen patties to make up for the lack of natural pollen the bees have brought in.

For the love of dogs: Cops for K9s presented a check May 4 for more than $3300 to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County. The money was raised at an annual garage sale. Pictured are volunteer Shirley Walters of Creative Talents 4-H Club, organizers Melissa and Chris Herlinger, shelter Director Debbie Agostinelli, volunteer Shirley Hryonak, volunteer Joy Knapp, and shelter President Barb Busko.
