Nine-year-old Johnna Blystone of Austintown made a quick connection with a Jack Russell terrier Saturday the Mahoning County Dog Pound’s first adopt-a-thon. Officials hoped the event would reduce the number of loving companion dogs that will have to be euthanized to make space for more dogs to come into the facility.
