But even before the laws took effect, many stores that did a brisk business in fake pot had gotten around the laws by making slight changes to K2's chemical formula, creating knockoffs with names such as "K3," "Heaven Scent" and "Syn."

Memories of Christmas past: Members of the executive board and staff of Mahoning Valley Historical Society have chosen “All Dolled Up” as the theme for an exhibit to be featured at the Arms Family Museum, 648 Wick Ave., during the society’s Memories of Christmas Past Holiday Spectacular. In addition to items from the society’s collection and loans from private collectors, the exhibit will showcase rare, one-of-a-kind vintage holiday dolls and toys. A preview party has been scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 3. Admission will be $15 for MVHS members and $18 for guests. Reservations will be accepted at 330-743-2589. The exhibit opens to the public Dec. 4 and runs through Jan. 9. For details visit www.mahoninghistory.org.
