The Vindicator The birthday of Dr. Seuss, who was born in 1904 in Springfield, Mass., was celebrated on March 3 by the children in Mellony Leonard’s second grade class at St. Patrick School in Hubbard. Taking a cue from one of the author’s best-loved books, the young pupils wore the “Cat in the Hat” hats they made for the occasion. They also participated in a variety of activities and listened as the story of “The Cat in the Hat” was read by their teacher.
