KARATE KIDS: Ben Powell, 13, and his sister Heather Powell, 17, take Karate lessons from A.E. Vea, 72, at his Karate studio on Belmont Avenue in Liberty. Ben Powell has cerebral palsy, a motor condition described as a group of disorders that can involve brain and nervous system functions such as movement, learning, hearing, seeing and thinking, and Vea said he gets satisfaction watching his student’s progress.
