Scholars reap rewards: April Lesko and April Krempasky were both present at the June 7 meeting of the Austintown Growth Foundation to receive the scholarships they won by writing 500-word essays based on the theme “What would you do if you had unlimited resources to make Austintown a better place to live in?” This is the 18th annual scholarship award issued by the Growth Foundation. Lesko will attend Youngstown State University in the fall to pursue a career in nursing. She is involved in band and track. Krempasky will attend a school in central Florida with a major in event and hospitality, pursuing a long-term goal of working at Disney world. She was involved in Relay for Life, Interact Club, and student council, and was a National Honor Society student. Both girls will represent the Austintown Growth Foundation in the upcoming July 4 parade.
