Giving Made Simple: During a Giving Made Simple campaign, which ran from April 8 to May 2, Sam’s Club members and associates voted to determine how $4 million in charitable giving should be distributed among eight nonprofit organizations. Junior Achievement USA drove the most online votes during the campaign to win $500,000, of which Mahoning Valley Junior Achievement received an $8,000 grant. The grant will allow the youth development nonprofit organization to expand its educational programs. At the conclusion of the campaign, from left, Doug Duncan and Steve Lucente, from Sam’s Club in Boardman, present a huge facsimile of the check to Michele Merkel, JA president.

Youngstown Rotary: An insight into the operation of a motorcyle dealership was provided by Tom Wronkovich of Harley-Davidson Biketown in Austintown when he was the guest speaker at the Aug. 11 meeting of Youngstown Rotary. Wronkovich, who lives in Canfield, provides Riders Edge New Rider Courses at the store for those who want to learn to ride and to pass the state motorcycle test.
