FALL FASHIONS: Cards and games were on the agenda as guests attended a fundraising event sponsored by Columbiana Women’s Club on Sept. 30 at the clubhouse on Main Street. A highlight of the event was a fashion show at which, from left, Janet Tatman, Roberta Myers and Miriam Hutson, club members, modeled the latest in fall fashions from Miriam’s Selections shop on state Route 164, and from the club’s Next to New Shop. Not pictured were Shirley Fitzpatrick and Judi Karcher, who served as chairs for the event.

DANGER ZONE: Joey Dixon of Austintown stands alongside his brother’s Suzuki motorcycle at one of the most-dangerous intersections in Mahoning County — Mahoning Avenue and state Route 46 in Austintown. NEGOTIATIONS OVER: From left, U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th, Youngstown Mayor Jay Williams and Girard Mayor James Melfi show a site plan for a 191-acre site along the Youngstown/Girard border that could be the location of a $970 million V&M Star Steel expansion.
