Special to The Vindicator TOUCHING SITUATION: Ryan Kopcial, the winner of The Vindicator’s Most Valuable Kid Contest, gets a pat on the head and a word of advice from Roberto Perez, catcher for the Scrappers, before he throws the first ceremonial pitch at the game between the Scrappers and State College Spikes on June 22 at Eastwood Field. The youngster, a son of George and Karolyn Kopcial of Austintown, received the ball as a souvenir. Entry forms for the contest run each Sunday in The Vindicator and are available at the customer service counter. One winner of the contest will be chosen to throw out the first pitch and will receive four tickets to each of the Scrapper’s 38 home games.
