Speciial to The Vindicator HELPING HANDS: Maureen Drummond, executive director of Hands on Volunteer Network of the Valley, bids on a wreath at a silent auction at the Festival of Wreaths at Shepherd of the Valley-Boardman, 7148 West Blvd. The facility raised more than $1,500 at this year’s Festival of Wreaths. More than 40 wreaths, donated and created by staff and residents, went on display Dec. 5. That was more than twice the number donated for last year’s event. Proceeds from the silent auction will underwrite programming and events for the residents through the Resident Activity Fund. Sponsors included Shepherd of the Valley-Boardman, Shepherd of the Valley Home Health, Blue Sky Therapy, Lane Life Trans, Life Fleet, Southern Care and Mahoning Medical Supply Co.
