FEDERAL HELP: Christopher Wargo, left, and his wife, Alissa, stand at the rear of their home on Pleasant Valley Road in Vienna Township. The small area of dirt in front of them is the only indication on their property that they even have a septic system. It empties into a ravine at the back of their property. The couple has been approved to receive federal stimulus money to replace the system, which didn’t meet regulations when the Wargos bought the house in 2005.

Special to The Vindicator OUT OF SORTS: Items are being carefully sorted by, from left, Sofia Froom and Dot Leo, who are part of a committee involved in preparing the collection for a sale to take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the barn on the property at the Ward-Thomas Museum, 503 Brown St., Niles. Clothing, rugs, household items, books, lawn mowers and other equipment will be available for bargain hunters. Hot dogs and pop will also be sold. Proceeds will benefit Niles Historical Society and will be used for the upkeep of the museum and grounds. For more information call the museum, (330) 544-2143.
