Theory of a Deadman will come to Packard Music Hall on Oct. 1.

Tickets for the 7 p.m. rock concert are $26 and $30 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at ticketmaster.com (fees apply) and at the Packard box office, 1703 Mahoning Ave NW.

Theory’s hit songs include “Lowlife” and “Hate My Life.”

Get a signed bottle of Boom Boom Bourbon

Just in time for Father’s Day gift giving, Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini will visit three locations in coming weeks to offer his new Boom Boom Bourbon, greet visitors and sign bottles.

On June 8, the former boxing champion and Youngstown native will be at Chalet Premier, 10000 Market St., North Lima, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and then at the Giant Eagle at 330 Center Road (U.S. route 224) in Poland from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

On June 15, Mancini will visit the Giant Eagle at 48 Vienna Ave., Niles, from 1-3 p.m.

School jazz groups to present concert

The Boardman High School Jazz Program will close its concert season with a performance at 7 p.m. Friday in the school cafeteria, featuring all three jazz ensembles, each under the direction of Thomas Ruggieri.

The seniors in the BHS Jazz Program will be featured: Randi Baghurst, Andy Beichner, Daniella Girardi, Shawn Korpi, Joe McKinney, Jeff Policy, Miles Spearman, Danny Turillo and Noah Veauthier.

Poet, author to read at Lit Youngstown event

Poet Susan Grimm and fiction writer Mary Grimm will be the guest readers at Lit Youngstown’s next Readers Series session at 7 p.m. June 5 at Soap Gallery, 117 S. Champion St., downtown. The readings will be followed by an open mic hosted by Steve Force. Admission is free.

Random House has published two books by Mary Grimm: the novel “Left to Themselves” and the short story collection “Stealing Time.” Mary, who is working on a dystopian novel, teaches fiction writing at Case Western Reserve University.

Susan Grimm is the author of poetry collections “Almost Home” (1997), “Lake Erie Blue” (2004) and “Roughed Up by the Sun’s Mothering Tongue” (2011). Her work has appeared in several literary journals.

Classic Fest to feature several tribute bands

Nelson Ledges Quarry Park will present Classic Fest, featuring Led Zeppelin tribute act Kashmir and Pink Floyd tribute Gilmour’s Breakfast, June 14-16.

Classic Fest’s lineup includes several other top-notch tribute acts paying homage to the most popular rock bands of the 20th Century, including Ragged Glory (Neil Young), Limelight (Rush), PettyBreakers (Tom Petty), Prog Nation (Yes) and Ball n Chain (Janis Joplin).

Admission is $90 ($75 presale) for Friday through Sunday, or $65 ($50 presale) for Saturday through Sunday. There is no extra charge for camping. Presale tickets are available at ticketquarry.com.
