6 — The Immaculate 5k at the Festival. The Race starts and ends at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 4490 Norquest Blvd. in Austintown. Registration is for the Kids’ Dash at 7 p.m. is free. All other events have a $10 entry fee. The 5k race starts at the conclusion of the Kids’ Dash. Registration opens at 5 p.m. Runners receive a hot dog and soft drink for free. Awards will be given for top finishers and in age groups. For more information, call Matt Hlebak at 330-398-5512.

8 — The Autism Society of Mahoning Valley (ASMV) offers the new Autism Warrior competition from 8 a.m. to noon at the Canfield Fairgrounds. An expansion of the nonprofit’s annual Valley Autism 5K and Autism Support Walk, the Autism Warrior event will bring together the region’s best athletes and families to compete for prizes in the 5K, Ninja Obstacle Course and People-Powered Tractor Pull. The event also features a Special Needs Resource Fair to bring together local resources for families affected by autism and other special needs.
