The Poland library hosted a Tie Dye party on April 9.

Children in grades fifth through twelfth were able to attend.

With supplies provided by the library, children and their families were able to learn different ways to tie dye fabric.

Each community member was given a pillow case to dye as they liked, and many brought their own shirts to dye as well.

Librarians provided assistance in applying rubber bands, and instructions on how to tie the pillow cases to create certain patterns.

After tieing and dying their items community members placed them in plastic bags to take home.

Along with design ideas for future tie dying the library provided at home washing information.

Tie Dyeing items requires them to sit for at least six to eight hours.

After sitting, you must rinse the items in cold water to wash away excess dye and then wash it by itself to avoid staining other clothes.
