Millennial to stage ‘Chicago’ at Ford hall

The Millennial Theatre Company will present the musical “Chicago” for four nights next week at Ford Family Recital Hall, 260 W. Federal St., downtown.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, May 31 and June 1. Tickets are $20 ($18 for students and senior citizens) at the DeYor Performing Arts Center box office, by phone at 330-744-0264 and at youngstownsymphony.com.

A 1920s cocktail hour will take place in the theater lobby each night, before the performance. Awards will be given for those who attend in their best 1920s era outfit.

“Chicago” revolves around murderous chorus girl Roxie Hart, who teams with another death-row inmate, Velma Kelly, for fame, fortune and acquittal.

The cast features Rachel Ruggieri as Velma, Rosie Bresson as Roxie, Landon Talbert as Billy Flynn, and Sydney Thomas as Matron Mama Morton (for performances May 29-May 31). The June 1 performance will feature Valley theater veteran Robert Dennick Joki as Matron Mama Morton.

Rounding out the cast are T. Hanes as Mary Sunshine, and Tylor Zuniga, Liz Amstutz, Savannah Teter, Emelia Sherin, Hannah Stephens, Rachael Thorn, Anna Anders, Trevor Patchen, Ben Mowrer, Rebecca Williams, Nathaniel Ams, Stefon Funderburke, William MacNeil, Mark Williams, Aubrie Morrison, Hailey Gelzheiser, Sarah Macciomei, Mia Matthews, Hannah Hall, Gina Marafiote, Lohgan Talbert, Madisyn McVay, Seairra Porterfield, Emma James and Lexee Garrett.

Joe Asente, artistic director of Millennia, is directing “Chicago.”

Makayla McIntosh, who recently was part of the national tour of “A Chorus Line,” is choreographer, and Savannah Florkowski is music director.

“Chicago” is being produced with Sunrise Entertainment.
